Easter

Last Thursday Cole had his Easter party at school.  They had an egg hunt, picnic lunch and party too.  It was a fun day for the kids!  Cole was so excited!

I got a few pictures of him before we headed to school.

The azaleas in our yard are just beautiful this time of year.  We have some great landscaping thanks to the previous owners of our house.  

The Easter bunny also came to see Cole.  I got him a new basket this year from a cute little boutique in our town.  This is the back.  

And this is the front.  We keep Easter nice and simple.  I explained multiple times what Easter is about to Cole.  Hopefully he grasped some of it.  

Sunday after church we had a big group of friends over for lunch and an egg hunt.  I didn't get many pictures because we were so busy eating and hanging out.  :-)

We had a wonderful Easter and are now gearing up to head to Disney on Sunday!

Spring has Sprung!

We sure have been enjoying the beautiful Spring (sometimes summer feeling!) weather here in Mississippi and Alabama.

Cole and his sweet friend Ava have spent many days playing outside and eating popsicles.  They both share a love for popsicles so they consume lots of them when they are together.  :-)

Our neighbor Chloe gave Cole this huge Diego doll that she has outgrown.  Diego likes to chill and watch TV with Cole.

He also likes to go on car rides and always buckles up for safety. :-)

Our Sonic here has a nice playground filled with sand.  Cole and I went there last week after Bible Study and we stayed for several hours!  He had a blast playing in the sand and there were lots of other kids to play with too!   And I loved drinking a diet coke with vanilla so it was a win, win!

 On Friday we went to Alabama for a funeral.  Jonathan's aunt (his mom's sister) had a stroke and had been hospitalized.  She was starting to improve then had another stroke while in the hospital.  Jesus called her home and her funeral was such an uplifting experience for me.  She truly lived a life for Christ and I can only hope people can say the same thing about me at my funeral.

I got a few pictures before we left while we all looked nice and were tear free.

On Saturday we went to Olive Garden to celebrate Josh's birthday.  It had been far too long since I had eaten there.  Needless to say it was SO good!!

Jamie and Josh.  They are set to get married in January and we look forward to welcoming her into the family.  After lunch she and I went shopping and had some quality girl time.

Then on Sunday after church we went and ate at the new Japanese steakhouse, Umi.  I feel pretty special to have a good restaurant like this in our little town.  Cole loves watching them cook and I love eating the chicken and rice.

Finally, the shaved ice place in town recently opened.  I have a slight love affair with tiger's blood shaved ice.   I got one every time we went to the San Antonio Zoo last summer (which was alot)!

Cole enjoyed it as much as me!  :-)

We are looking forward to celebrating Easter with some friends over for lunch and an egg hunt for the kiddos.  Praying you have a blessed Resurrection Sunday as you remember what Christ did for us on the cross.

Zoo Time

The weather has been gorgeous here lately and we have been taking full advantage of it!  Jonathan was off work Friday so we headed up to see the grandparents and hang out.  

Saturday morning Mamaw, Cole and I met Jaime (Josh's fiance) and Jamie's brother at the zoo for some animal seeing fun.  Francis bought a membership and we can all get in with it so free trips to the zoo are right up my alley! :-)

McWane Center

Last week Cole and I went to Birmingham for the night so we could check out the McWane Center.  I went there as a senior in high school (back in 1999!), but haven't been since then. Alot has changed, but I knew Cole would enjoy it.

Aunt Misty came over from Montgomery and Mamaw and Papaw joined us too!

As usual, we are thankful to be so close and really taking advantage of it.  Cole has stayed with his grandparents the last two weekends and he has loved every minute of it!

Spouse Taxi

Friday we had a spouse taxi day for Jonathan's squadron.  I have done a taxi once before in the T-6, but this was way cooler! :-)  No taxi in the A-10...it is a single seat!

After the taxi...we got to go about 100 mph which required lighting the burners.  It was really cool and gives more of an appreciation for Jonathan's job!

That night was our squadron commanders wife's 40th birthday celebration.   The cake was awesome and he had shirts made just like this for all of us (the wives) to wear.
