A weekend o' fun

Thursday afternoon was a wet one so we met our friends at the bowling alley for some fun. Cole insisted on picking up the ball multiple times, even when it wasn't his turn. :-)

So excited about his good roll!

Our friends...

On Saturday we picked up our "little brother" and went to Science City at Union Station in Kansas City. We had been once before, but there was so much we weren't able to see that time that we checked out this time.

We got Subway and had a nice little picnic before going in.

Posing in front of the fountain.

I love Cole's self-imposed pose. My cute little guy!

Digging for dinosaur fossils. Cole had his goggles on and was ready!

Then Saturday afternoon we had a pirate birthday party to attend. I ordered Cole this cute shirt off of Etsy to wear to the party.

At the party! They live on 5 acres and it was so pretty and green!

Cole the pirate!

With some of his treasures from the party!

What a great weekend with beautiful weather!

I love to get muddy!

We have had lots of rain here lately, which means lots of mud! Cole loves to splash in the puddles so the other day I promised him once we got home from our errands I would let him play in the water. And boy did he!

He told Jonathan and I at least 50 times that he "loved to get muddy". Every time Jonathan and I laughed and agreed with Cole.

Here he is after his mud puddle play time...

At least he had fun! I don't know too many kids, especially boys, that don't love some good time playing the mud and dirt!

Water fun

Last week we had a few nice, hot days. I am sure by the end of the summer I won't be referring to hot days as "nice", but for now I am just happy when it gets warm enough to turn my heat off. :-)

And what better to celebrate the warmth then to break out the pool?

Cole had a fun time just a splishing and a splashing!

I love this little boy and his silly, carefree, fun-loving personality! He makes me laugh on a daily basis and we are really having a good time together most days!

I am really looking forward to the summer and all the changes it brings with it. I have loved living here in Missouri, but am beyond ready for a change! San Antonio and then Mississippi will bring just the welcome change.

Happy Summer! Here's to many more water fun days!

Mother's Day weekend

On Saturday we celebrated Mother's Day a day early with some eating and shopping at the Legends. We finally got to eat at the TRex restaurant after a few previous tries. It is a cool dinosaur themed eatery, but it can be a little loud and intimidating to little people.

Cole was all smiles about it this time!

My blue eyed boy posing with the cool aquarium.

Waiting for our food.
There was a huge moving dinosaur right next to our table. This is what Cole thought about that... ;-)

After we ate we made a visit to Nebraska Furniture where I got to pick out my Mother's Day gift...a new TV stand. I'm sure most women want jewelry or perfume or massages for Mother's Day, but not me, I want stuff to decorate my house. :-)

Here are a few cute pictures of Cole playing before we headed out Saturday morning...

Our Mother's Day picture. It wouldn't be complete without the Star Wars light saber in it! :-)

We had a great family weekend together and I am so blessed to be called mom by my sweet little guy. Cole was a long time coming and we couldn't thank God for him enough. He blessed us with Cole in HIS time, not ours.

Random Fun and Cole's new toy

Last Sunday we celebrated Jonathan's 31st birthday! I tried to get a picture of him and Cole before church, but Cole will not take serious pictures these days!

Cole loves playing with his daddy!

Last Wednesday was our last Bible Study and the weather was nice so Cole and I took some time to play at the park.

Wide open mouth picture!

I love my little guy!

On Friday, Jonathan brought home this fun, new toy for Cole! He has been talking for months now about wanting to get Cole a four wheeler or something. I will admit it is super fun!

Next up will be a bigger one for daddy! :-)

Teaching Cole to ride! He did good for a beginner and we only turned over one time. ;-)

These two...

are snug as a bug in a rug! :-)

They sleep like this together everyday, for both naptime and bedtime! Roxy truly is a "member" of our family. It does make me a little sad to think of the time when Roxy passes on and Cole will no longer have her to sleep with. :-( Maybe they will have outgrown sleeping with each other by then!

And people ask when Cole will get a sibling! Silly people, he already has one! :-)

First and Last

Today was Cole's last day of preschool for the year so I thought it would be fun to compare the pictures from his first day and last day.

Ready for preschool: August 30, 2010. You can tell it was the end of summer because this little boy had a nice tan going on!

Showing me his cubby:

And here he was today ready for his last day: May 5, 2011. Nothing like still having to wear a coat in May. :-( Poor guy was supposed to get to have water fun for his last day at school, but it rained all morning and didn't get above 60 degrees. Here's to hoping Spring or Summer will finally arrive!!

Can't believe how big he looks from the first day to the last day. He is growing up fast!

He had a great year at the UCM Child Development Lab and we will sure miss them next year. Luckily, I already have him signed up for two days a week in San Antonio and mid-fall I will start looking into Columbus preschools for the winter. Lots of changes coming up for our family, but we are certain God will lead and guide us through them!

Family Fishing Night

Friday night Cole's preschool had Family Fishing Night at a little local lake called Hazel Hill. We took Matthew, Bryce and Kaitlyn with us and we all had a fun time. Cole was the first to catch a fish and he caught it using his net.

Matthew and Kaitlyn

Cole holding his rod and waiting patiently for a fish to bite.

Bryce was the first to catch a fish with his rod. He was so proud!

Next up was Cole! He was so proud and so were we! :-)

Of course he had to "pet" fish before he threw it back. This child loves animals of all kinds!

Jonathan and I. I didn't do any fishing, just alot of cheering on of the kids. Matthew caught a fish too, but for some reason I didn't get a picture. The fish were really biting that night which made it fun for the kids.

After fishing we headed to Custard's for yummy ice cream. I love that I can spend time with lots of kids and then only be responsible for one at the end of the day. :-) It is the best of both worlds to me!

Cute and Silly Cole

Just some random pictures over the last week or so of Cole, well, just being Cole. ;-)

This boy is so silly and can say some of the funniest things. However, he is in a phase right now where he uses "potty talk" and I don't find it quite so funny. Everything is pee pee this or poo poo that and it is driving me CRAZY! I usually correct him the first time and then just try and ignore it. Hoping this phase ends as quickly as it began.

He was showing me Diego's jaguar that he got in his Easter basket.

Being goofy before heading into the zoo on Friday...

He had a blast climbing the tree at Sammie's house on Saturday. Daddy was hard at work behind him on the roof while Cole played and I took pictures. :-)

I love my silly boy, potty talk and all. :-)
