Crafts

I have been feeling crafty lately...probably because ALL my craft stuff is in storage and I am starting to have withdrawals from not being able to play with any of it! :-)

I started off my craftiness by letting Cole get finger paint. Here he is all ready to go out and paint!

A future artist??

So fun!

As for my craftiness, it has involved two wreaths:

The first is a yarn wreath. It did not turn out exactly how I anticipated, but it is good enough. The guest bedroom at our new house is going to be black and white so I made it with the intention of hanging it in there. The red ribbon won't stay, but it was all I had for now. There was lots (and lots!) of wrapping involved in this.

The other one (which I LOVE!)is an Alabama wreath for my front door. Again, can't wait to get the new house and hang it on the door to show some Crimson Tide love! :-)

My sister has already requested I make her one...I think I know what part of her Christmas present will be! :-)

I also have another project in the works and will put it on here when it is complete!

What we've been up to...

Last Monday we had the pleasure of moving to a different TLF...we originally thought they were updating them, but no, just installing new phone lines. It was a ball of fun moving all of our stuff from one end of the TLF's to the other. Jonathan had to fly so it was Cole and I doing all the work...thankfully we uses these handy little carts from the laundry room to help.

Cole needed a carrot break! :-)

Friday night we went to a local carnival that was in the same town as Cole's school.

Cole loved playing all the games...too bad they were $5 a game so he only got to play a few!

He rode the roller coaster...

And went down the giant slide!

Saturday we stumbled upon a Children's Museum (on the way for a picnic at the park) so we decided to go there first. We had to get our activities in early so we get home and cheer the Tide on. We were all dressed in our team spirit!

Riding a horse with a huge longhorn behind him...only in Texas!

Playing in the hospital...is he trying to tell me something? :-0)

Dr. Cole!

And face painting...I am NOT artistic so I let Jonathan in on this fun!

And then Jonathan got a little abstract art by Cole! :-)

Then on Sunday after church we headed to the fair. Cole loved the pony ride as well as the all the other animals he was able to pet and feed.

We had a fun, full weekend!

In other news, we closed on our house last week so we are officially homeowners of our third house! They sellers are renting it back from us until November 7 and then Cole and I are going to head on down to Mississippi and move in on the 8th. Jonathan should follow us shortly thereafter. I am so looking forward to getting in the house!

Austin

Saturday we made a day trip to Austin because I have been wanting to go there and check it out. We thought we planned good because we checked to make sure that Texas wasn't playing a home game. Well, we didn't plan good at all because when we were headed to the botanical gardens we saw tons and tons of people heading that way too. Apparently yesterday was Austin City Limits (a HUGE outdoor music festival). So, no botanical gardens for us.

We did stop in Cabela's and check out the dead animals.

And rode around the University of Texas campus and checked out the stadium.

Then we hit the Austin Zoo. Their zoo is all rescued animals and is more of a sanctuary so it wasn't very big, but we still enjoyed checking it out.

And of all the days for it to rain, it drizzled on us heading in. I am not complaining though because this state needs some serious rain!

Cole and I loved the lions. Probably because we just saw the Lion King the night before! We were able to see all the animals up close which was cool. We had alot better view than at most zoos.

And a couple other random pictures from last week.

Cutie Cole on the way to school one day.

A mid-week afternoon trip to the zoo. Daddy was done for the day so he got to join us too!

And this morning before church.

The first time to wear jeans in several months...he looks so big to me!

Friday Night Football

Friday night we went with our old TLF neighbors to a high school football game. The team was Texas State Champions last year so they were actually pretty good to watch.

The kids on their dad's backs. Of course Cole is being wild! :-)

Cole wouldn't turn around for the picture, so I got his handsome daddy instead! :-)

The first big play the home team made everyone got up and cheered...except Cole. Poor guy was crying. I think all the loudness and sudden jumping up scared him a bit.

Me with Ann and Thandiwe.

The Steele Knights!
All smiles!

Saturday after the Bama game we headed to Buffalo Wild Wings for more football and food!

A couple other random things. Cole outgrew his other bike so we went to the BX and he picked out this beauty. :-)

Another new hobby...putting puzzles together. He does pretty good, but does require assistance. :-)

The Past Week

Last week Cole didn't have school because they were remodeling the church where his school is held so we had everyday of the week to do something fun together. :-)

On Monday, we headed downtown to the Children's Museum. With kids back in school the museum was almost empty so it was GREAT! We were able to really enjoy the place without the crowd.

Cole in front of the barn.

Riding in the wagon with the animals.

For lunch, we walked over to the Riverwalk and ate at the Rainforest Cafe.

Another day last week we went to a big, indoor playplace. Here Cole was the captain of this pirate ship.

They had a HUGE playground inside too.

On Friday we met up with an old friend from Missouri, Amanda and her son Bryce. Her family lives in San Antonio and she was here visiting. I'm so glad we could meet up and Cole and Bryce could reunite. They are only 2 months apart and have been "friends" since they were about 6 months old.

Cole with Bryce's brother Lance.

On Saturday we went to snake farm/petting zoo. It was kind of a weird place, but Cole had fun. :-)

Feeding the goats...who were very hungry!

Saturday night we had dinner at some friends house that we met here at the TLF. They were our neighbors for a few weeks while waiting to get into their house. Their daughter is a couple years older than Cole, but they play pretty well together.

She even let Cole drive her Jeep! Real men drive pink Jeeps. :-)

Monday we celebrated my 30th birthday with a little shopping at the Shops of La Cantera. It is a really nice outdoor mall and the weather was perfect!

We went to build a cupcake and Cole and I built our cupcake. He had gummy bears on his.

And I got a yummy strawberry one with strawberry frosting and confetti...it was so yummy, but it did take 3 of us to eat it!

I snapped a few pics of Cole before school this morning.

I love this little guy!

Always being silly!

And a picture of my feathers! I have been wanting these in my hair for awhile and there just happened to be a salon at the mall that I was able to walk into and get them put in super fast. Don't worry...they aren't permanent! :-) They last a couple of months, but I'm sure I will take it out before that. I just wanted something fun!

My little Mozart doing a little afternoon painting today!

We had a great, fun, busy weekend! I am SO blessed and to God be the glory!!
