Weekend

Saturday morning our church had a fundraiser for their youth group. It was a pancake breakfast at Applebee's. I think supporting youth is a great cause and I love pancakes so it didn't get much better than this. ;-)

Jonathan buttered and cut up his pancakes all by himself. He was so proud!

And I had to throw this picture in. Like father, like son! :-)

On Sunday all the kids from VBS got up on stage and sang a couple of their VBS songs. Watching these kiddos sing and dance was the cutest thing ever and it really blessed me. Cole is in the middle on the right in the green shirt.

Close up...he was working it!

And more!

And a cute little video...God is wild about us!!

Vacation Bible School

Today wrapped up my 3rd and final year as a Preschool Crew Leader for Vacation Bible School at Northside. It is definitely bittersweet as I am sure what I will miss most about Warrensburg is my church and all the wonderful people that go there. I have been so blessed by this place over the last two and a half years.

My sweet neighbor Kaitlyn was my helper all week and I really enjoyed having her alongside me. I let Cole attend two full afternoons with me and then the other three he was with me the last half of the afternoon. He is still a little too young (and wild!) for VBS.

Here is Cole and Kaitlyn before heading in one day. Cole was sporting his cute Pandamania shirt which was our theme this year.

Cole and Drew up on stage.

My crazy boy!

So handsome!

What a great and tiring week we had! I hope the kiddos were blessed this week...I know I was!

Ducks and Bubbles: A Fun Tuesday!

We started our morning off by going to Lions Lake and feeding the ducks. I had a loaf of bread I was going to throw out so instead of trashing it, we took it to the ducks. They were very appreciative. :-)

Cole had the bread and was ready to go!

Ready, set, throw!
Here they come! These ducks were snatching the bread right out of Cole's hand...it was pretty funny and luckily they didn't scare him.

Me and my boy

After Lions Lake we headed to a bubbles class at the community center. He was loving blowing all the colorful bubbles.

Having fun!

After we did the indoor stuff (painting and snack) we headed outside to the pool for more bubbles and a little playtime at the splash pad. This class was supposed to be supervised (meaning I didn't have to be there), but Cole has become super clingy lately and cried and cried when I left, so I ended up staying in the bubble class too. :-) I enjoyed myself though and the class was only an hour and a half so I didn't have anywhere I needed to go.

And these pictures are on here just because they are cute! Cole was practicing with the camera the other day so I think these pictures were taken during his practice session. :-)

Daddy!

We have had a fun day so far and are looking forward to VBS this afternoon!

A Day at the Farm

Yesterday we took a trip to Overland Park, Kansas (a little over an hour away) so we could go to the farm. :-) We had been wanting to take Cole to Deanna Rose for quite sometime so we finally made the trip.

About to head in. Cole had his shades on and was ready to play!

We found cool little teepees that we were able to check out. Can you imagine if this was your house? Crazy how the Indians lived!

Cole got to ride a pony which he said was his favorite part. Wish we had some land so we could have one of our own!

Feeding the pygmy goats. This was my favorite part! I had one bottle in each hand. These goats were hungry! Another thing I would get if I had land...lots of pygmy goats. They are very docile and sweet animals.

Cole tried his hand at feeding them and did pretty well!

We got sandwiches for lunch and ate them in the theater room. It was nice and cool in there!

Cole and daddy with the chickens.

More goats but we fed these pellets through the fence.

And by the end of the day we were hot and sweaty, but nothing a little ice cream couldn't cool off. :-)

We had a great day there...only wish we had gone sooner!

Camping

This weekend we went on a short camping/boating trip and took our "little brother" Matthew and neighbor Bryce with us. We set out to Truman Lake on Friday around 11am.

We stopped at Hardees for lunch on our way to the lake.

We got to the lake and chose our campsite. Cole was all ready to start setting up.

Jonathan's monster truck was perfect for pulling the boat. A guy Jonathan works with was gracious enough to let us borrow his boat.

We got our tent all set up!

And then we were off on the boat. The weather was perfect and the kids loved the boat ride.

Jonathan and Cole even did a little knee boarding...without the knee part! :-)

Bryce and Matthew
And yes, even I got into the murky lake water. :-) It actually felt pretty good and I enjoyed swimming around.

We also visited the little beachy area so the kids could play in the sand and water.

At the end of the day it was back to the campsite for hotdogs and smores. No camping trip is ever complete without smores! And it is a good thing we ate them Friday night because by Saturday morning a raccoon had gotten into our cooler and eaten all our chocolate (along with our bacon and eggs we were going to have for breakfast)!

Cole's favorite part of camping...peeing outside! ;-)

He loved the smores!!

Hanging out by the fire.

I would say our camping trip was a success....this was what everyone did on the way home!

Camping is not my favorite activity, but I do it because my boys (big and little) love it! I took one for the team! :-) I told Jonathan I would really like a pop-up camper before our next trip though!

Swim Lessons

Cole started swim lessons this week and I am proud to report that he is doing MUCH better than last year! He likes it alot and I like it alot (because I don't have to get in the water with him)! I so enjoy sitting on the "sidelines" and watching him learn.

Here we are before class started yesterday. He was all smiles and ready to go.

Sitting (on the far right) and listening to his teacher.

Kick, kick!

On his back.
We have one more lesson this week and then again next week for days. I am so glad he is liking it better and hope he picks up some new skills by the end of the class!

Birthday Party Fun!

Saturday we celebrated Cole's friend Isaiah's 3rd birthday. He has been Cole's friend for a couple of years so it was fun to celebrate with him again this year.

Bryce and Kaitlyn were at the house hanging out before we left so I attempted to get a picture of the three of them.

Cole had his bubble gum and he was ready to go!

They had masks at the party and the first one Cole chose was the elephant.

Then he was Diego. I was laughing in this picture...

Cole and his Diego stickers. Doesn't he looked thrilled? :-)

After we ate lunch they had an "adventure" to go on. They started on their bikes first.

Then they went through a cave, up a mountain, through a forest and ended up with candy. The candy area was like individual pinatas with lots of candy filled cans hanging from the ceiling. Once a kid pulled the string the candy started falling. It was such a neat idea.

And finally the cake. Tracy (Isaiah's mom) did an awesome job on the cake so I had to get a picture. Everything was edible, but the plastic figures.

I love birthday parties...going to them and hosting them. Looking forward to Cole's carnival themed party next month!
