Playnastics

We went to Playnastics at J&R Gymnastics on Friday and Cole had so much fun and ran his energy off! The squadron commander's spouse here had told me about it and I was excited to try it out. The best part...it was only 15 minutes away and not 50 minutes like I had to drive while in Warrensburg. I know I will miss how close everything is when we get to Columbus.

Cole was ready to play!

He loved sliding...

right into the foam pit!

And then crawling back out and doing it again!

Just a swingin'!

What a great time we had!

They have open play on Monday and Friday for an hour and a half. They also have a gymnastics class for ages 3-5 that I am thinking of signing him up for. Of course it will only be for 4 months, but it would give him something fun to do.

Wildlife Ranch and Rudy's BBQ

On Wednesday, Jonathan and I took Cole to the Wildlife Ranch. I went here about 3 and a half years ago when Jonathan was going through IFF. Francis was in town with me and we had alot of fun driving through visiting with all the animals. When she and I went several animals got almost too close for comfort. :-) I will say the animals were a little more tame this go around with the exception of a crazy ostrich.

Cole and Jonathan as we were about to drive through.

Our first animal encounter. Cole loved sticking his hand out the window and feeding the animals.

Yum, yum!

After we rode through the safari we went to the petting zoo. Cole and I both love the goats!

After we left there we went to lunch at Rudy's. It is the yummiest BBQ and the cream corn was great too! There is SO much good food to eat here in San Antonio. Good thing I am still running so I can burn some of the calories off. :-)

Oh yea, I was excited! :-)

It was another fun day with the family!

Sea World

We headed to Sea World on Monday for a FUN day! Thankfully, military get in free one time a year so this saved us $170 in tickets! Crazy how expensive Sea World is, but I would say it is worth it! We got there around 10:30am and didn't leave until around 7:30pm. We got our free tickets worth! :-)

Here we are as we headed in.

And a family shot.
We found the beluga whale and posed with him too.

Then we went to the new killer whale show...One Ocean. Cole was excited for it to start.

And we rode the carousel.

And Cole rode his first roller coaster.

He loved it! He was laughing so hard.

He loved it so much that we rode it over and over and over again! :-)

Then we checked out the Sesame Street 4D movie. It was super cool...we got wind blown on us, water sprayed on us and our chair rocked and vibrated.

And Cole's favorite part (and probably mine too) was feeding the dolphins. Cole had his fish and was ready to go.

They opened up nice and big for their fish.

And a quick picture with Shamu.

We also spent some time at the waterpark. Cole loves the water so he had a blast playing over there.

He (as were we) was worn out by the end of the day! He fell asleep holding his new Shamu ball.

We had a blast at Sea World! Not sure it we will make it back or not before we leave here, but I am sure glad we took advantage and went while we could!

Corpus Christi- Part 2

The last two days of our trip were more of the same...sand and sun with a trip to the USS Lexington thrown in.

The bay was full of lots of jellyfish. We even found a dead one on the beach so Cole showed it off for the camera.

On Thursday we took a 30 minute drive over to Padre Island so we could experience their beautiful beaches. We spent the morning there just playing and walking on the beach.

That night we headed to Joe's for dinner.

Someone was a little worn out from his lack of naps, so he looked like this going into the restaurant. He was limp as a dishrag. :-)

Luckily he did wake up and eat with us!

On Friday we went to see Lady Lex, a retired Naval aircraft carrier turned into a museum.

Cole took me on a quick flight. :-)

And he tried out the sailor's sleeping quarters. They were squeezed in tight.

Showing us his muscles on the torpedo.

But by far, his favorite part was the pool! We spent several hours a day just swimming and playing. He even learned how to swim underwater while on this trip. I am so glad he loves the water and is not scared of it!

Swimming with daddy.

We had a great time at the beach and are enjoying all of our family time together before Jonathan starts training on the 3rd!

Corpus Christi-Part 1

We arrived in San Antonio last Sunday and then took off on a mini-vacay to Corpus Christi on Tuesday. It was only 2 and a half hours away so that was a small drive to see the ocean. :-) It wasn't the nice, clean, beautiful beaches that are Destin, Florida, but it was still nice to have sand and an ocean.

Our first stop was at a local shop to look for some beach gear. Luckily we didn't get eaten by the shark before going in. :-)

Then we hit the beach!

And played in sand.
Love this picture of them! Cole had a blast jumping waves with his dad.

Checking out all the boats after dinner.

On Wednesday morning we got up and headed to the aquarium. Cole was excited to see the dolphins.

We got to pick up hermit crabs and some other sea life.

The dolphin show!

Touching stingrays. We all enjoyed this.

Cole sitting down at the splash park that was within the aquarium.

Eating Dippin' Dots for the first time.

Building a sandcastle with daddy.

Cole also loved feeding the birds....me, not so much! I couldn't handle them hovering over my head like that!

That was wrap for our first two days!
