Pumpkin Patch

We went to the local pumpkin patch (it's about 2 miles from our house!) for the first time this season on Friday night.  Jonathan's squadron rented it out for our "First Friday" and it was a blast as usual.

Crosby and Daddy.

And a quick family picture.  Cole had soccer practice before hand so he was a little hot and sweaty!

We went back over there yesterday so we could attempt to get some pics of the boys in their matching shirts.   What a challenge to get both kids looking at the same time.  I feel for our photographer as we take family pics in a couple of weeks. She will have her work cut out for her!

These boys just absolutely melt my heart.  I never saw myself as a mom of boys, but now I couldn't imagine it any other way!

Air Force Ball

We went to our first Air Force Ball on Friday night.  Pretty crazy this is our first in over 10 years of AF service!

I wasn't big on the idea of going, but Jonathan wanted too so off I went.  I borrowed a dress from a friend (and it fit perfectly!) and bought some new red shoes on clearance at Belk. It was a win/win!

Me and my handsome hubby!

I saw a few of my friends there too! Wendy and I.  She is my neighbor and our boys love to play together.

Jen and I.  We are in the same squadron and became friends while in San Antonio when our hubbies were going through the UI training.

And another of Jonathan and I.

The food was good, the company was good and even the speaker was enjoyable!  A big thanks for the in-laws for coming and watching the boys so we could go out!

6 months

Mr. Crosby is half a year old! Wow, how the time flies!  His 6 month doctor appt. is Monday so I don't have his current stats.

He's getting cuter and sweeter by the day!

He's also had a couple of firsts.  Riding like a big boy in the shopping cart at Wal-Mart. Cole was with me and he told Crosby that he was so proud of him! :-)

Eating a vanilla wafer.  His diet still consists of mainly breastmilk, but he does get the occasional table food.  He has also had some baby food, mostly at dinner time.  I figure we will get more consistent with that soon.   Some other things he is doing: he can almost sit up by himself, he rolls all over the place so I have to be careful where I leave him, he still loves to wakeup a couple of times at night and nurse (thankfully my body is used to it!) and he naps 3 times a day.

Crosby has the best babysitter and loves it when Ms. Sydney comes to play.  Sydney's husband is in pilot training here and they don't have kids so she is the perfect sitter.  She sent me these pictures while she was watching him yesterday.

I love that sweet face!

Baby Jace

Last weekend my older sister and I went to Tennessee to visit Courtney and our new nephew Jace.

I was child free for the weekend thanks to my awesome hubby who kept Cole and my awesome in-laws who kept Crosby.  It was nice to be able to just focus on my sisters and Jace.

Sweet guy!  He has the longest fingers and feet.  Crazy to me since my boys have short, fat fingers and toes. :-)

Aunt Steph kept up with the tradition and gave Jace his first bath.

He was thrilled. ;-)

And I got pictures of Crosby while I was away so that made me feel good!  I know he loved the one on one time with his Mawmaw and Pawpaw and Aunt Misty too.  She came over a couple times to see him and I really appreciated that.

It was good to get away, but also so good to get back home to my boys!  Thankful for such awesome family that are so helpful and involved in our boys lives!

Lately

Life is just passing us by so quickly, but I am trying to savor every moment.  Especially with this boy who is getting so big and changing everyday.

He has been working on his sitting up and is doing really well.

He's quite the roly poly too so I have to be careful where I leave him.  It is not unusual to leave him on my bedroom rug, leave for a quick minute and come back and find him in my bathroom.

My little sister had her baby on Monday.  He was an 8lb, 6oz bundle of joy.  I still can't believe she has a baby, but I am SO looking forward to going to Tennessee and visiting him this weekend.

So precious! I can't wait to snuggle him...Jace David Burgner.

Yesterday Cole's class had a grandparents day program.  Cole and Crosby are blessed to have two of the BEST grandparents a kid could ask for!

This sweet lady read them a story about grandparents.

Cole loves Pawpaw.

And Mawmaw too!

I know I say it alot, but we are SO thankful for these two precious people.  They are so involved in our kids lives and for that we are thankful!  They got up at 4:00am yesterday morning to drive here and be here before Cole went to school and then went to the school at 9:00am for the breakfast.

Thank you M.B. and Francis for everything you do for us and our boys! We love you!

Labor Day Weekend

We had a fun Labor Day weekend spent in Memphis.  We had been wanting to go to the Memphis Zoo for quite some time so this was the perfect opportunity.  It is only about a 3 hour drive so we checked Cole out of school early on Friday and hit the road.

In our hotel room about to head to head out for dinner and fun at Incredible Pizza.

Eating pizza before playing games.  Incredible Pizza was like a Chuck-E-Cheese, but better!  Lots of games, golf, go-karts, bumper cars, laser tag, etc.   It came with a heftier price tag too as we soon found out! :-)

We ate dinner and watched a little Elvis.

 Having fun!

Ready to bump daddy!

 In the zone.

Crosby and I watched Cole and daddy play.

Go-karts.

And some glow in the dark putt putt golf.

On Saturday morning we went to the Memphis Zoo. It was hot that day so we got there at 9 which was when they opened.

Petting a lizard.

Just hanging out.

Loved seeing the tigers.

Trying to touch a sting ray.

The big bell in China.

I want to come back as a Panda in my next life! ;-)

On Sunday morning we headed to the Memphis Children's Museum for the morning before heading home.  We've been to lots of children's museums over the last 5 years and this one was just okay.  Probably wouldn't go back again.

Cole had fun playing at the Fed Ex plane.

The only time you'll ever see me in a mini-van. :-)

In the Lego room.

We wrapped up our weekend with some fishing yesterday morning.  Cole even caught a few!

Fishing was too much for this little guy!

I'm thankful for fun weekends spent with my family!
