Mexico Cruise-part 1

We made the long (and I mean LONG!) drive to Alabama on Wednesday and dropped Cole off with Jonathan's parents. On Friday we headed down to Mobile to visit with Misty and Chris and then head out for our cruise on Saturday.

When we arrived Friday we drive over to Mobile Bay and everyone (but me) had a yummy seafood dinner at Blue Gill.

Josh drove up from Pensacola too so it was a sibling reunion. This picture cracks me up because Josh's face is so funny. :-)

On Saturday morning we had time to sightsee before getting on the ship so we headed down to Fort Gaines and Dauphin Island.

Misty and Chris before heading in.

Gotta love my inappropriate husband! :-)
It was SO great to put my toes in the sand!!

On Saturday evening we boarded the cruise ship. We were supposed to leave around 4pm, but due to excessive amounts of fog the ship couldn't get in and we didn't leave until around 9pm. But, once we got through the pain of getting checked in and on the boat all was well.

Sunday was a "sea day" so we hung out on the boat relaxing.

Jonathan brought me a drink in this cute little coconut that also doubles as a coin bank.

That night it was off to dinner. Jonathan got lobster and shrimp and if I recall correctly he ordered two entrees. :-) Apparently one serving of lobster and shrimp wasn't fulfilling enough.

Love my handsome hubby!

And round one of the towel animals. I loved coming in every night and seeing what was going to be there.

Monday morning was our first port at Progresso, Mexico. We got off the ship bright and early (7am) and headed to the bus.

It was a two hour, one way, ride over to the mayan ruins of Chitzen Itza, but we got to ride on an air conditioned bus so it wasn't too bad.

The temple behind us.

More ruins. These were really cool and considered one of the 8th wonders of the world.

That was it for the first couple of days of our trip. The rest of the cruise will be on the next post.
